a collar key that transmits a digital coded infra
red signal to the electronic pet door which unlocks
the door. The range for the collar key is approximately
6 inches.* One key and collar are supplied for use
with one cat. Additional collar keys can be purchased
for use with two or more cats (sold below).
The
electronic pet door is battery powered and programmable
(requires 4 AA batteries). Batteries should be replaced
every six months. It can be upgraded to run on AC
power by purchasing a Transformer Assembly Kit (sold
below). This electronic pet door opens using a "programmed
coded" collar key. The key(s) is specific to
your cat or cats and the door. This means that other
cats in the neighborhood with collar keys (magnetic
or coded) will not be able to unlock the door. In
contrast, a magnetic door uses a simple "magnet
key". This means that any cat or dog with a magnet
collar key can unlock a "magnetic" door.
Note: This electronic pet door only allows cats with
a programmed collar key to enter through the electronic
pet door. A collar key is not required to exit though
the electronic pet door to the outside

Instructions
Step 1)
Place the batteries into the
collar tag. It should flash
3 times and continue to flash
once every 2 minutes. Step 2) Hang the tag onto
your cat’s collar facing forward. Step 3) Plug
in or insert the batteries
into the pet door. Step 4) Approach
the flap of your door with
the collar key. The red LED
will stop flashing and the
unit will emit a high pitched
beep.
You cat flap is now programmed to recognize
the collar key.
Note that if you have additional collar
tags, they must be the same
color as the tag that your
door was programmed with.
The flap does not need to
be programmed for every key.
